Fix HP Officejet 4650 Paper Jam Issues

Paper get jammed continually at the time of printing and you didn’t find the solution for that, then follow the given troubleshooting tips for solving paper jam on HP Officejet 4650 printer.



Step 1: Clear the internal paper jam:


Warning: Don’t pull out the jammed paper from the front of the printer because it might tear the paper or it will leave the paper pieces inside the printer.

  • First, open the cartridge access door and remove the paper cover.

  • Now left the duplexer cover up and remove the jammed paper from it.

  • Insert the paper cover and close the cartridge access door.

  • In control panel touch “Ok” button to continue the printing.

If the problem remains, then check the cartridge area for clearing jammed paper.

  • Open the cartridge access door and move the carriage to the right of the printer.

  • Grasp the paper with two hand and pull it up.

  • Move the carriage to the left to remove the pieces of paper from the print carriage.

  • After paper removed close the cartridge access door.

If the issues not fixed then check the printer paper tray,

  • Pull out the paper tray till the bottom of the printer and check if any input paper get stucked.

  • If there is jammed paper remove the paper with both hand and pull out gently towards you.

  • Push the paper tray inside and take a print.

Still, the problem remains then go to the next step.


Step 2: Clear paper jam in the document feeder

  • Lift the document feeder cover.

  • Pull out the jammed paper from the roller. In case if any pieces of paper stuck into it, check the roller and wheel for removing pieces of paper.

  • Close the document cover gently.

How to avoid paper jam:


Follow the instructions to avoid the paper jam,

  • Frequently remove the printed document from output tray.

  • Check whether you are using quality paper or not.

  • Don’t use too thin or thick paper.

  • In case your printer run as out of paper, run your printer as out of paper first then load the paper and take a print.

  • Use the recommended paper of your printer.

  • If your printing on both side of page, avoid to print highly saturated images in thin paper.
